Report for Triad Unit Meeting June 13, 2009

Jaci KrauseFirst of all, we had a great time learning ethics from Laura Allen and the perspective of a BMBT board member.  Down to earth, common sense and really interesting things we should all be doing in our practice.

Discussion of Dual Relationships, what to do about chronic no show clients as well as inappropriate behavior, what constitutes that behavior as well.

Aromatherapy: Indications and Contraindications went beyond do this and do not do that, into why and what reasons you would or would not use certain essential oils.  Discussion about SCENTs as opposed to essential oils, what to look for in price, is Rose cheap?  If it is, it is not an essential oil but probably a chemically reproduced scent and to avoid it.

The information passed on to us was a great base for an Aromatherapy class for treatment.  Most of the students agreed they would love to delve further into Aromatherapy, so I will look for an excellent instructor for that reason for 2010.

We had students from out of our Unit.  One came from Asheville, which is

132 miles away, another from Elkin which is close to that.  I expained to all students that whether they are members of AMTA or not, they are welcomed at any unit meeting in North Carolina as well as out of state.

Laura Allen is a very relaxed, well informed instructor and I heartily recomend her to any and all units.

Jaci Krause, Triad Unit Coordinator.
